This is a special invitation to the Class of 70 to attend the Army v. Wake Forest Tailgate and football game in Winston-Salem, NC, on September 20, 2014. Wake Forest has declared it Military Appreciation Day and it will be a big event for West Point, soldiers, and for veterans of every branch of the armed forces. The West Point Glee Club will sing the National Anthem at the game. Don’t fail to attend the pregame tailgate -- everyone will be there.

TAILGATE STARTS 3 HOURS BEFORE KICKOFF

LOCATION. Pre-game Tailgate is inside the Annex (comfortable, air-conditioned) at Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, 482 Deacon Boulevard, located in same parking lot complex as Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial (LJVM) Coliseum, 2861 University Parkway, Winston-Salem. The Annex is just across street from football stadium (BB&T Field).

TAILGATE MENU: Full tailgate fare of Traditional North Carolina Chopped Barbeque, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Buns, Potato Salad, Macaroni Salad, Baked Beans, Cole Slaw, Dessert
PRICE:
$20 - Adults and children 13 years and older
$15 - Children 6-12 years
Free - Children under 6 years
Free - Military and Cadets in UNIFORM

MAP. Go to Google Maps and enter: 482 Deacon Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC. This should put you at entrance to the parking lot nearest the Annex. The stadium (BB&T Field) is just across the street. We are told you can enter the parking lot here, so we recommend you try this entrance first. Alternatively, you can enter the parking lots at 2861 University Parkway.
PARKING. $10 per vehicle. Best to enter at 482 Deacon Boulevard or, alternatively, at 2861 University Parkway.
FOOTBALL GAME TICKETS: To sit with other Army fans in our section, purchase your game tickets ($40 each) online at Army Ticket Office. Phone: 877-TIX-ARMY, or go online to:

BENNY HAVENS. Come to a great Benny Havens social from 5:30 to 8 p.m., on Friday evening (Sep 19) at the Piedmont Triad International Airport Marriott Hotel, One Marriott Drive, Greensboro. No entry charge; cash bar; hors d’oeuvres. We expect Rabble Rousers and Spirit Band to attend. The WP Glee Club will probably NOT attend Benny Havens.

Wake Forest has declared Saturday as MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY, where veterans of every branch are honored. We expect the Army Parachute Team (Golden Knights) to jump in, Cadet Glee Club to sing National Anthem at game, Rabble Rousers, Spirit Band, active and reserve and National Guard, cadets on spirit pass.

HELP. We incur considerable expense for Military Appreciation Day and the Tailgate. Please help us by making a tax-free donation. The West Point Society of the Piedmont is a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations will be greatly appreciated, but we are also looking for people and organizations to be key contributors. Donors at the $1,000 level and above will be prominently recognized and be allowed to display a sign or corporate logo at the Tailgate.
