Classmate John Mearsheimer SENDS: National Interest web site about foreign policy under Trump

Hello everyone!

I am writing to pass on a few items that I thought might interest some of you.

First, I just published a piece on the National Interest web site about foreign policy under Trump. It is nice an short. Here is that link:

Second, I was in Russia for two weeks in October, and the second week was spent at the annual Valdai International Conference at Sochi on the Black Sea (the 2014 Winter Olympics were held there). Both Putin and his foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov spoke at the conference. Putin spoke and took Q&A for 3 hours. Lavrov spoke and took Q&A for 2 hours. Truly impressive performances. I was on a terrific panel there with some high powered people. Here it the link for it.

If you don't want to watch the entire discussion, which is just over 2 hours, I come in at 39 minutes, 1hour and 50 minutes, and 2 hours and 13 minutes.

Third, when I was in Moscow during my first week in Russia, I gave a long interview at the Valdai Club of Moscow and a long interview with RT. Here are those links if you are interested.

Fourth, I was part of a big study group on the Iran nuclear deal sponsored by the National Iranian-American Council (NIAC). They issued a report, which I helped write and signed. They held a press conference on the report recently in DC with four people and a moderator. Two of the people were Iranian-Americans, but the other two were Andy Bacevich (West Point, Class of 1969) and me. Andy, who I am sure many of you know or know of, also helped write and sign the report. Here is the link for that press conference as well:

I feel somewhat guilty sending all these links, but I figure everyone can pick and choose what interests them. I hope everyone is well and Happy Holidays to all.
