Dear USMA batch 70, MG Rolando Floria died February 6, 2013. The wake was held at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Mortuary inside Camp Aguinaldo - the General Headquarters of the AFP. On February 9, a Necrological Services in his honor was conducted, organized by Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 70 and the Society of West Point Graduates of the Philippines led by former Chief of Staff Gen. Narciso Abaya - also a graduate of West Point. Before the interment on February 10, 2013, a full military Farewell Honor was held in Camp Aguinaldo, after which his body was brought to Libingan ng mga Bayani (Grave for the Fallen Heroes)at Fort Bonifacio - the home of the Philippine Army. Here, a full military Departure Honor with 21-gun salute preceded the interment. At his wake, hundreds of ordinary soldiers and military officers including civilian employees of the Armed Forces of the Philippines lined-up to pay their last respect to MG Floria.... MG Floria was indeed a true and humble man and a dedicated military officer, true to the motto of USMA - "SERVE WITH INTEGRITY" all throughout his military career....(The writer is Bong N. Quintos, MG Floria's nephew.)

On February 9, 2013, a Necrological Services was conducted in his honor, sponsored and organized by Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class '70 and the Philippine Society of West Point Graduates led by former Chief of Staff Gen. It is indeed a pleasure to have an uncle like MG Floria - who all throughout his military career, remained humble and true - as man and as an officer.
