Harold H. “Buck” Dunwoody, Jr. USMA 1970 A2 RIP

Obituary

Dahlonega, GA -

Harold H. “Buck” Dunwoody, Jr., 69, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Monday, 26 March, 2018, at his residence.

He was born September 19, 1948, in Ft. Knox, KY, to the late Harold and Elizabeth (Hausheer) Dunwoody.  Buck was an Eagle Scout, who graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY in 1970 and served in Germany in the U.S. Army for four years.  Afterwards, he remained in Germany as a Senior Sales Representative for Pioneer Electronics for thirty years.

He returned to the United States in 2002. In his retirement, he enjoyed many of his hobbies which included: sailing, fishing, music—listening to multiple genres as well as playing the guitar—boating, woodworking, gardening, cooking, bicycling, hiking and photography. He was a man of many talents. He was compassionate, fun-loving, and lived life to its fullest. He was known for his witty sense of humor and infectious laugh. He was the kind of friend you could depend on.  He was passionate about cat and dog rescue (owning several that he affectionately called “the tribe”). He loved his family, and in time of need, put his life on hold to care for his ailing father for nine years.  He was loved dearly, and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his former wife, Kaye Jane Pastore, his sisters, Susan Schoeck, Ann Dunwoody, Jacqueline Baker, and brother, William (Bill).

He will be cremated and funeral mass will be held at St. Raphael’s Church in Englewood, FL at 10:00 am on 3 May 2018.  A Celebration of Life will follow after the Mass at Park Forest Club House, 323 Indian River Lane, Englewood, FL 34223. In lieu of flowers, Buck would appreciate donations to the no-kill humane societies that rescued his “entire tribe,” giving us peace of mind and are sure made Buck smile as well:
